The new approach to holistic fitness and functional movement
Presented by Jannie Claassen & Simone Berzen
Current exercise training methodology too often yields less than desirable results, due to a focus on the function of individual muscles. Fitness professionals, trainers and coaches continue to encourage training in static non-functional positions, while searching aimlessly for true individual muscle action.
Such old-fashioned methods of exercise training undermine the value of moving the body as a unique and individual whole. The brain knows nothing of individual muscle action - only of harmonious movement.
WHAT IS MOVEMENT FUSION?
Movement Fusion is a concept borne from the wisdom gained by uniting the knowledge and expertise of a Physical & Movement Educationist and a Physiotherapist, both sharing the same passion and desire to approach human movement and functionality holistically.
Movement Fusion is about moving the body as a functional whole. Movement allows for the realisation that the body is an interconnected web of sensations that connects the individual to himself, to others and to the world around him. Movement allows us to experience the exquisite uniqueness of our senses and to connect mind, body and soul.
No two people are identical. No two people move in the same way and therefore no two people can be expected to perform movement patterns in an identical manner. Each and every movement programme has to be different and specifically designed to suit the individual's needs.
This two-day workseminar will introduce you to this holistic philosophy and groundbreaking training system. You will learn to view each individual as a unique, integrated biomechanical system with integrated individual parts. The individual parts make up the unique whole individual - it is this symbiotic relationship between the parts and the whole which needs to function optimally to create harmony and balance in the body.
YOU WILL LEARN
- The fundamental anatomical considerations for movement
- The principles and science of movement
- Foundation of a movement therapy session
- Evaluation of an individual's movement patterns
- How to design a movement therapy session
- How to teach a movement therapy session
YOU WILL RECEIVE

Muscle Activation Workshop |
When the body and mind work together - anything becomes possible!
Presented by Douglas Heel
Sometimes fitness professionals think that certain movements or exercises are not suitable for an individual or that the individual is limited by an inherent muscular restriction. Often there are frustrations on both sides because it seems that certain muscles are “just fast asleep” and that the individual will “never get the movement right” or that there is inadequacy to the performance of the muscle.
Muscle activation can make anything possible: possible for the professionals to change their attitude resulting in design of fresh and unique approaches so that the client can perform beyond expectations.
WHAT IS MUSCLE ACTIVATION?
So you don't know what MUSCLE ACTIVATION is all about? It is time to find out about this unique technique which you can implement whenever and wherever you work with the body.
Try one of the techniques yourself:
- Do five normal sit-ups and feel how easy or difficult it is.
- Now rub or slap your adductors ("inner thighs") for 10 seconds.
- Try doing the sit-up again. If you are like 99% of the population the sit-up will be much easier! If not, there are other points to wake up the relevant muscle and get it to fire at 100%!
- If you abs are firing fairly well you can also get a colleague to try to "push you down", before and after, and really see the results!
Muscle Activation uses a system of reflexes throughout the body that wake up muscles. The muscles can then function at their maximum potential in strength, power, endurance and flexibility. The applications range from improved sports performance to great gains in training but also release of tight structures throughout the body that cause pain and dysfunction.
The body is an electrical system just like any other, when over loaded it blows a fuse. When we correct the blown fuse, the circuit and therefore the body can fire to maximum potential. This is how we were designed to be.
The exciting part is realising how easily we can improve our function when the body is in balance – techniques you will be taught will look at what you can do for all of the major muscle groups and the all important stabilisers.
YOU WILL LEARN
Learn how to activate individual muscles and groups, and then incorporate them into the most widely used exercise protocols they are using. You will be able to leave the course with enough knowledge to be able to introduce the concept to your clients with confidence and use it immediately with great results!
YOU WILL RECEIVE
- Training Manual
- Bodyline Attendance Certificate
- Continued Education Credits (CEC's)
- Competitive advantage in your field / industry
